Sir Harry Rodger Webb (born 14 October 1940), known professionally as Cliff Richard, is a British singer and actor. He has sold over 21.5 million singles in the United Kingdom and, as of 2026, is the third-top-selling artist in UK singles chart history, behind the Beatles and Elvis Presley. Richard began his career as a rock and roll singer in the style of Elvis Presley and Little Richard. With his backing group, the Shadows, he was a leading figure in the British popular music scene in the late 1950s and early 1960s. His 1958 single "Move It" is often cited as Britain's first authentic rock and roll song.
