Twenty One Pilots are an American musical duo from Columbus, Ohio which consists of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. The band is known for its difficult to categorise mix of musical styles, lyrics concerning personal insecurities, and ambitious conceptual storyline with characters, settings, and alter egos told through several albums. Its live shows feature costumes and on-stage acrobatics, and the duo has built a famously dedicated fanbase. The band was formed in 2009 by Joseph, bassist Nick Thomas and drummer Chris Salih.
